What is Cloud Actually? How Does It Works?

Today 80% of total world population uses technology in daily life includes mobiles, computers, tabs. All this users might have come through the term ‘Cloud’ and the cloud services but most of them are still not aware about what is CLOUD actually is. 

That’s why we should know what is cloud ? Right!!

Cloud is nothing but storing, assessing your data over the internet. Instead of buying and maintaining big server, setup or hard drive you can use all your data on internet with help of cloud.

You can use your Facebook handle from any smartphone but not WhatsApp. That’s the magic of cloud!

Let’s  say example, you use cloud service on daily basis via sending messages, notes to your friend via web(facebook), use app, download image, watch your favorite Netflix show, pay online. All this is activity is stored in cloud and exits in some digital space.

Types of Cloud Computing 

Private Cloud:

As its name suggest, private cloud more focused on PRIVACY.  They build for provide advanced level of security for business, big companies to secure there tones of data.

Let’s say example, Private Cloud would be a company that uses Microsoft Exchange because Microsoft Exchange can only accessed by an authorized user through a secure VPN connection.

Public Cloud:

Public cloud based on normal standard framework that uses files, web server, applications over internet. It is cost efficient and it does not  provide high level of privacy. Gmail is example of public cloud. 

     Types of Cloud Computing Services 

There are three main types of cloud computing- Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. Each type of cloud computing provides different levels of control, flexibility. So, that you can purchase the right services according to your needs.

 1.      Infrastructure as a service (IaaS)

It provides virtualized computing services like servers, hardware,  storage, network to the user through the internet.it gives you the highest level of flexibility and management controls.

 2.     Platform as a service (PaaS)

It is a services that allow to third-party provider delivers hardware and software tools, the user can use them directly. we don’t need to manage hardware and operating systems instead it focus on create, test, develop, and manage your application.

 3.     Software as a service (SaaS)

SaaS provides you with a complete product that run & managed by the service provider like big companies (AWS, Salesforce crm, Microsoft, IBM).  For example, companies create application, you download them and from this companies make revenue.

In Simple Words- Netflix, Amazon Prime, Gmail, are examples of SaaS. Netflix(third-party provider) is provide you to stream their videos over the internet and you pay them for streaming .
